It was disabled, but now its enabled, but that didn't fix the issue.
My other friend has a pair of Razer Kraken USB's. I have a Razer "Man o' War" Wireless Headset and my playback device is "Headset" and my friend can't hear my audio. We think its a setting that's causing this, since "speakers" isn't changing. The playback device was still set to "Speakers" and the Razer Headset did not show up anywhere in the list of playback devices, and I could still hear my friend's game audio. My friend then tried a Razer Kraken Headset to see if the playback device would change, but it didn't. When I asked what Playback device was set, " Speakers" were set and "Headset" wasn't a playback option. We assumed the headphones were the issue. We looked through all of the settings and looked online too, but we didn't find any Discord setting that related to Feedback Audio. The next thing we checked was the Discord settings. Since he lowered his audio to the point where he can't hear it, it can't be that his audio is too loud. I could only hear loud noises from him (When we play PUBG or Fortnite). He lowered his audio to a point were he could barely hear his game, but I could still hear it.
After this, I could still hear his game perfectly so I asked him to lower the audio even more. I thought it was that his game audio was too loud, so he turned it down to around what I have my settings at, which is 62. Whenever I would talk to him on Discord, I could hear his audio perfectly (He has some Logitech Headphones). My friend has always had this since he got his pc about 8 months ago. It's as if there should be a "Microphone Input" slider in the Windows Mixer to control it but there is nothing of the sort.Īlso, there has occasionally been a "Stereo Mix" device (to record whatever is going out of my speakers) listed in the Recording Devices window, but it's not always there, I'd like to get that back as well There is just two "Microphone - High Definition Audio Device" listed, one is the internal mic and the other for the jack at the front of the laptop.EDIT: Problem solved! I'm running an electric guitar into the laptop, and I get good levels and can record in Cool Edit fine, but I'd like to hear the sound come out the speakers as I play. I have a Toshiba Satellite A300 running Vista Home Premium, the sound card is Realtek (although I can't find anywhere that says the model etc, device manager just says the driver is Microsoft.?) But now on my new laptop this is not the case. On all of my previous computers, when I plug a microphone into the mic jack, the sound from the mic comes out of my speakers automatically.
